Preface

In the early years of Calvary Chapel Mesquite I was asked to write something helpful and encouraging for our first bulletin. Not knowing what was really required, and thinking it would be only a 'one time' request, I thought I would condense one of my 'Musing' articles and call it 'Something To Think About'. It met with approval and I soon found I had 'volunteered' for a weekly contribution. It has been a very challenging 'mini ministry.' After writing approximately 100 articles I decided to bind them with the intent of giving others Something To Think About. 

I've now decided to revise those early devotionals, making them a little more in-depth but still informative and encouraging, and call them “Abiding In God's Word,” which is what appears in this booklet. It is my sincere desire that you benefit from them as I did in writing them. I hope you find them to be helpful in satisfying the hunger of the heart that God has created within each of us. It's my desire to help lead people to a better relationship with Jesus Christ, but doing so necessitates that we are Abiding In god's Word on a daily basis. 

Paul's prayer in Eph 1:18 NIV is also my prayer for you:

“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”
